The Next Quest for Property Managers
Value Creation - The Next Quest for Property
Managers
The Chief Operating Officer of the Outsourcing Institute, New York, Mr Alex Lam, will be one of the keynote speakers at the up coming New Zealand Property Institute's conference being held at the Hyatt Hotel, Auckland, on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th July 2003. He will give a lively session on "Value Creation - The Next Quest for Property Managers"
Alex Lam said from New York today, "During times of change with high volatility in the business environment, the operations and maintenance of facilities continue to suffer inadequate funding, added responsibility, increased span of control and downsized knowledgeable workers. Facility and property managers constantly have to walk the fine line of balancing staff morale and financial performance while senior management continues to proclaim the slogan of Work Smarter, Not Harder and People are our Greatest Assets. This is a challenge for property managers around the globe and in New Zealand."
Mr Lam said many corporations and organisations have already completed most of their cost cutting exercises and have exhausted their ways of reducing expenses. They are more concerned now with value creation, especially value creation in the direction of their missions and goals. For the property manager, this is perhaps a new concept. How do they deal with cost cutting, which is still demanded of them, and find the resources to create value for the corporation? And, what kind of "value" are they talking about in property management?
Drawing from over 20 years of property management experience, Mr. Lam will provide insights on how to manage healthy cost cutting and at the same time provide value-added services to your customers. We will explore the essential cost components of running properties, examine the impact of mission critical issues, discover new competencies for property professionals, and learn about the powerful Property Annual Report for effective leadership in your property management organisation as well as leading in a revolutionary way for your corporation.
Institute CEO,
Conor English, said today, "We are exceptionally pleased to
have been able to secure such an excellent global speaker on
a highly relevant and topical issue for New Zealand's
property, facility, local government and corporate real
estate managers. A world renowned speaker, Mr Lams sessions
will add enormous value. Mr Lam will be one of about 25
speakers addressing what is already shaping up to be an
excellent conference", Mr English concluded.
