$1 Bus Fares for Senior Citizens
$1 Bus Fares for Senior Citizens
Stagecoach Auckland is to offer $1 bus fares to Senior Citizens every Monday between 9am and 3pm for the rest of June.
Currently Senior Citizen one-way cash bus fares start as low as 30 cents (and the lower fare will of course be charged if more appropriate) and rise to $4.70 for the longest journey.
“Stagecoach worldwide acknowledges that many Senior Citizens would prefer not to be reliant on their own car for transport.” Ross Martin, Executive Chairman of Stagecoach Asia-Pacific, says. “Our bus service in Auckland is getting better all the time and we want to encourage Senior Citizens to try it out. “The $1 fare promotion is a great opportunity for Senior Citizens to get out and visit places they don’t normally go to. For instance, instead of paying $4.70 to travel from Orewa to Auckland City, the fare will only be $1.
Similarly, a visit to Waiwera Hot pools from Takapuna would normally cost $3.40, and would now only be $1.” Mr. Martin says. A valid Auckland Regional Council Senior Citizens’ ID Card needs to be presented each time the fare is requested. Customers who want an ID card should call rideline on 366 6400 to get details and the special forms sent to them.
The promotion applies to one-way
cash fares only on bus services between 9am and 3pm, on June
