Revolutionary invention gives dogs an ever changing view

A revolving dog kennel, designed to keep man's best friend out of bad weather is one of the inventions entered in the Invention and Ingenious Method Awards at this year's Fieldays.

The revolutionary dog kennel is mounted on a rotating pedestal. A weather vane mounted on the front of the kennel rotates the kennel to keep the dog out of bad weather.

The revolving kennel provides the canine with an ever-changing view. The kennel also allows the dog to move around the kennel if he/she cares for a little stroll.

Takanini Racing and Stockfeeds are the masterminds behind the innovative dog kennel. A working model of the kennel will be on display at this year's Fieldays for the public to view.

Manager of Takanini Racing and Stockfeeds, Peter Sheffield came up with the idea for the revolutionary dog kennel. He is a keen designer and thought the kennel was a novel idea to take to Fieldays.

Barry Quayle, General Manager of the NZ National Fieldays Society says "The Inventions and Ingenious Method Awards are any important part of the Fieldays. Many innovations in agriculture have come from our awards. We often find that the big companies will go down to the awards area each year to scout for new ideas".

The Fieldays Invention and Ingenious Method Awards attract many radical new ideas each year. They are all displayed in the E Street Awards Area throughout the Fieldays.

This year's 35th annual NZ National Agricultural Fieldays will be held from 11-14 June 2003, at Mystery Creek Hamilton.
