Winemakers Pour Forth in Auckland
Up to 136 winemakers will head to Auckland at the end of this month to pour more than 1000 wines at New Zealand’s greatest wine experience Wine New Zealand (24th – 26th August).
Visitors to the Fair will have the chance to meet with winemakers from each of New Zealand’s grape growing regions. The greatest contingency of makers will be from New Zealand’s two largest regions, Marlborough with 36 and Hawkes Bay with 24 plus 23 ‘locals’ from the Auckland/ Northland regions (see list below of participating wineries by region). The winemakers will be showcasing their full range of wines, including some new whites from Vintage 2003 (Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Gewurtztraminer and Pinot Gris) and newly released whites and reds from 2002 (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Merlot blends and Syrah).
Both trade and public will have the opportunity to enjoy these wines:
Public: Sunday 24th August: 11.00 - 7.00pm, $25.00 at the door ($20 in advance)
Trade: Sunday 24th and Monday 25th August: 11.00 - 7.00pm, Tuesday 26th August: 11.00 - 5.00pm, $10.00 at the door
