Leading NZ electronics company triples capacity

A leading New Zealand electronics company Dynamic Controls today announced it is to triple capacity with new $2.5 million state of the art equipment.

Dynamic Controls – the world’s leading manufacturer of controls for wheelchairs and scooters - today unveiled plans for a multi-million dollar investment into new surface mount equipment that will almost triple its current manufacturing capacity.

The new equipment, which includes three high speed state of the art component placement machines, is to be installed at its manufacturing plant in Christchurch and will see Dynamic with probably the most advanced surface mount plant in the southern hemisphere.

Surface mount technology machines provide fully automatic assembly of electronic printed circuit boards. “This leading-edge technology is an important investment in our future,” chief executive John McCombe said.

“It will give us the firepower and flexibility to not only provide maximum throughput, but also improve our reaction times to our current customer base. Now we will continue to seek out new customers.”

Dynamic is well on track to meet their goal of having a world-leading surface mount department. Some of the older surface mount equipment will now be used in a prototyping capacity, providing rapid turn-around of developmental products.

This will allow Dynamic to continually develop and improve new processes and technologies that will ensure they reach their goal.
