Contact Energy Annual Meeting To Be Held In Dunedin
Contact Energy confirmed today that it would hold its annual meeting of shareholders in Dunedin on 17 February 2004 and that its annual profit result would be released to the New Zealand Stock Exchange on 14 November 2003.
Chairman Phil Pryke said it was the first time the company’s annual meeting had been held in Dunedin, providing an opportunity for local investors to learn more about the company’s performance and plans.
“Contact has one of the largest bases of shareholders in the country,” said Mr Pryke. There are approximately 12,500 Contact shareholders in the wider Otago area.
“Our intention is to hold annual meetings in various locations around the country over the next few years to allow as many of our shareholders as possible to attend.”
Contact held its 2003 annual meeting in Christchurch, while previous meetings were held in Auckland and Wellington.
Mr Pryke said the company was pleased to be able to hold the meeting in Dunedin as it had significant business interests in the Otago/Southland area. The company is the major electricity retailer in Dunedin, and one of its two national retail call centres is located in the city. Contact Energy’s Clyde and Roxburgh hydro electric power stations are also nearby.
The annual meeting will be held at the Dunedin Town Hall at 9.30am on 17 February 2004.
Mr Pryke also announced that the company’s annual results would be released to the New Zealand Stock Exchange on Friday, 14 November 14.
