Jon Hartley To Retire As Skycity Chairman

The current chairman of SKYCITY Entertainment Group Limited, Jon Hartley will retire as a director on 31 March 2004. Mr Hartley has been SKYCITY chairman since February 1996 and is a consultant to a number of business operations in both New Zealand and Australia.

The board of directors of the company has today advised the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges that director Rod McGeoch has been appointed chairman to replace Mr Hartley, effective from 1 April 2004.

Rod McGeoch was appointed a director of SKYCITY in September 2002. Sydney-based Mr McGeoch is involved in an extensive range of business, sporting and community interests on both sides of the Tasman. He is the chairman emeritus of Corrs Chambers Westgarth, solicitors, of Australia.

Mr McGeoch is a director of Telecom Corporation of New Zealand Limited, deputy chairman of Australian Pacific Airports Corporation Limited, chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi’s Trans Tasman Advisory Board, a director of Ramsey Healthcare Limited and Frontiers Group Limited and a trustee of the Sydney Cricket and Sportsground Trust.

Mr McGeoch is well known in Australia as the chief executive officer of Sydney’s Olympics 2000 bid and as a director of the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games until November 1998.
