Freedom Air Slashes Trans Tasman Fares From Christchurch

Low cost airline, Freedom Air today launched a new $99* one-way fare from Christchurch to Brisbane or the Gold Coast – representing one of the lowest Trans Tasman fares in the market.

The airline has made thousands of seats available at the $99* one-way price, which is only available through the Freedom Air website at www.freedomair.com from today until 22 March 2004. Travel at this price is between 1 May and 30 June 2004. *Airfares exclude an $8 insurance surcharge and all other taxes.

Wayne Dodge, Freedom Air general manager, says that as the only New Zealand owned value-based airline, Freedom Air is committed to delivering really, really small fares. “Our philosophy is to provide more New Zealanders with the opportunity to travel to more exciting destinations more often, and our $99* one-way fare is an example of how we are delivering on this commitment.”

The $99* one-way Trans Tasman fares follow Freedom Air’s recent announcement that it will begin flights from Christchurch to Fiji in May this year. This service has all the necessary Government approvals. Sales on the new Fiji service are available now through the airline’s website and its Reservations Centre on 0800 600 500.
