North Shore Businesses: Business Excellence Awards
Last chance for North Shore businesses to wise up on Business Excellence Awards
Businesses planning to enter this year's Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards have one last chance to attend a free pre-entry workshop.
The workshop on April 15 will teach businesses everything they need to know about compiling an entry for the awards. It also offers businesses the chance to talk to past winners and some of the judges as well as speaking with the four awards facilitators who are available to call on businesses to help them prepare their entries.
Jonathan Gravit, Commercial Manager for High Modulus which won last year’s Westpac Supreme Business Excellence Award and the Massey University Excellence in Technology Award, spoke highly about the positive impact of the awards.
“The Awards entry process provided a really strong feel-good factor among our staff. Our staff and management have been able to talk about our Awards with people outside of work, as well as with our customers and suppliers. It’s been really good for our company.”
Enterprise North Shore Chief Executive, Terry Hoskins, says business owners who attended the first two workshops were delighted to have the chance to find out how to present their business in the best possible way.
"Participants at the workshops learn what the judges look for in each category. There are certain criteria to meet in each of the 12 categories and businesses need to focus on these when compiling their entry.”
Bruce McLachlan, General Manager Business for Westpac, says there are huge benefits in attending a workshop.
"Many previous entrants say the pre-entry workshops saved time and effort. The workshops are a superb way of finding out what is required with the entry process but more importantly how to make the most out of entering for your organisation’s benefit.”
The Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards, in its seventh year, is a recognised means for North Shore businesses of all sizes to be publicly acknowledged for their achievements. The awards celebrate outstanding performance and business excellence and contribute to the ongoing development of the North Shore economy and business community.
The final pre-entry workshop will be held at 5.30pm on Thursday, April 15 at the Sports House, next to North Harbour Stadium in Oteha Valley Road, Albany.
