Another blow for forestry

The central North Island forestry industry took another blow today with news that Carter Holt Harvey’s Rotorua sawmill is to be sold.

EPMU organiser Megan Jones’Mamanu said that workers had been told the mill might close if a buyer wasn’t found.

The EPMU has 69 members at the Rotorua sawmill. They have a redundancy agreement as part of their collective employment agreement.
