Statement from Royal Tongan Airlines

Auckland, New Zealand, Friday, April 30, 2004 – Royal Tongan Airlines announced today that it had reached an agreement with Air Pacific and Polynesian Airlines for assistance to accommodate passengers affected by the suspension of its international services.

In the meanwhile, the airline said the requirements set by Air New Zealand for a Tongan Government grantee to also take Royal Tongan passengers were being finalised.

A task force has been set up in Royal Tongan Airlines’ head office in Nuku’alofa to expedite the arrangements for affected passengers.

Royal Tongan Airlines deeply apologises for the inconvenience caused to passengers and confirms that its domestic flights and international code sharing agreements with other carriers remain unaffected.
