Pacific Blue Gets Serious About Nz Corporate Sector
Christchurch based International carrier, Pacific Blue has announced a new “sales force” to deal with the increasing interest in the airline from the corporate community.
The decision was made following the launch of Christchurch–Sydney and Wellington-Sydney services, and in the response to new demand from the business market.
Pacific Blue has appointed a New Zealand Sales Manager, Charlene Lapslie, who will work closely with the New Zealand Marketing team as well as Virgin Blue sales teams, to ensure that Pacific Blue can cater to the needs of the corporate market and travel trade.
“As our travel trade support continues to grow and with increasing amount of interest in us from Guests in the corporate sector, we feel the time is right time to increase resources.
Charlene has got the professional experience and the innovation and attitude to develop the New Zealand market and we are excited about having our very first NZ Sales team member on the job,” said Global Sales Manager Jon Marshall.

Christchurch born and breed, Charlene’s career includes a background of varied experience. Starting out in print management she then spent a short time in on premise sales with NZ Wines and Spirits. Charlene has joined Pacific Blue most recently from DHL Danzas express. Her role at DHL included account management and the development of major import and export accounts within the South Island. Charlene says that the Highlight of her career to date has been winning New Zealand sales person of the year in the DHL Asia Pacific awards 2002.
Her new role will focus on keeping both local businesses and travel agents up to date on the best ways to cut corporate costs, helping businesses get the most out of their travel budget dollar while at the same time enjoying a high quality flying option.
As Pacific Blue grows, so too will the opportunities for more and more businesses to come on board and enjoy the same benefits that Australian business Guests have been experiencing on Virgin Blue.
