Changes Afoot At Radio Pacific

Following recent speculation by other media about changes to the Radio Pacific Line up, CanWest MediaWorks NZ are able to confirm that Paul Henry will vacate his regular breakfast position on Friday August 13, to take up a new morning position on TV1 Breakfast Programme, while continuing in a new afternoon / drive Talkback position on Radio Pacific’s revamped afternoon lineup. The changes also features the Mark Bennett Show moving to Nights from September 2004.

“Naturally we are disappointed to be losing Paul to Breakfast, however the new Television position just reinforces Paul’s News and Current Affairs ability ” says Chris Gregory - Radio Pacific Programme Director. “the profile for Paul and the station will be substantially increased.” TV1 News and Current Affairs Bill Ralston is excited about the appointment:” From my own time at Radio Pacific, I came to see Paul Henry’s potential as a television personality and I feel that his professionalism and personality will complement our morning television news format”

Programme Director Chris Gregory confirmed that these changes would strengthen the lineup and also leave open the breakfast opportunity to a new personality – yet to be confirmed.
