Exhibitors and programme confirmed!
A full hall of exhibitors have been confirmed for this year's Environmental Expo, once again being held in Russell on the last weekend of the month.
Natural medicines and solutions to emotional problems with herbal products will be available at this year's show, the fourth annual event. Gregor and Merry Robinson are producing their remedies from herbs grown organically in the GE-free North.
For those concerned with the size of their power bill, wind and solar energy displays will be two topics of interest. Aaron Morris of Northland Plumbing has a reference from a satisfied customer of his solar products - their monthly power bill has reduced from $170 to $25!
There will be displays by local government and the Department of Conservation as well as a wide range of groups and clubs protecting the environment.
Russell's Pam Solomon will bring her range of garments and items made from natural and recycled materials. Other stalls feature natural cleaners and an innovative product to protect gutterings, enabling households to access pure rainwater for household purposes.
Several of the exhibitors have agreed to run workshops and tutorials and a full programme of events is available from the organiser.
Outside talented Northland sculptor Jeff Andrews will be working with the community on a 'Community Tree'. People coming are invited to bring their donation of one tin can lid to mould into a leaf and hang onto his work of art.
The Expo runs Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm at the Town Hall.
