Two Prominent Property Institute Members Awarded Life Membership
The New Zealand Property Institute recently awarded two life memberships at its annual conference in Queenstown. During an awards dinner of over 670 held at the Queenstown Events Centre, Stephen Allan Ford of Hamilton and Anthony John Robertson were presented with life membership to the Institute.
Both men have been long serving members of the institute and the property industry. Stephen Ford has been involved in the valuation profession since joining the Government Valuation Department in 1974. He became a member of The New Zealand Institute of Valuers in the same year. In 1992 Mr Ford established Ford Valuations and Ford Property Ltd. Mr Ford received a Fellowship to New Zealand Institute of Valuers in 1996. Throughout this time Mr Ford had played a very active role that culminated in his appointment as the inaugural President of The New Zealand Property Institute in 1999. Since departing as President in 2001, Mr Ford has held various positions including chairing the New Zealand Property Institute International Committee and has served as a board member of the World Association of Valuation Organization.
After Graduating from Lincoln University in 1988, Anthony Robertson embarked on a career in corporate real estate, a field he is sill involved in today. His association with the Institute began in 1991 when he became branch chair of Canterbury, a post he held until relocating to Auckland. In 1994 Anthony was elected onto the National Council of PLEINZ where he served until it became part of The New Zealand Property Institute. Mr Robertson was very influential in the merger which later saw him become the Property Institute President in 2002. He held the position until 2003. Mr Robertson's current role within Telco Asset Management Limited means he is now based in their Sydney office.
Chris Seagar, Property Institute President said today, "Both Allan and Anthony heartily deserve this well earned accolade from their peers.
