DTZ Wins Ministry of Education Property Contract

DTZ New Zealand has won a major contract to dispose of the Ministry of Education’s surplus properties throughout the country.

The Ministry of Education has appointed DTZ New Zealand for a three-year contract term to manage and sell properties no longer required for education purposes..

DTZ New Zealand, one of New Zealand’s largest property services companies, is a multi-national, multi-disciplinary property company with nine offices throughout New Zealand.

Phil Kerslake, General Manager Asset Management for DTZ New Zealand, said the contract was an excellent project for the company.

“Securing this contract is recognition of our many years’ experience and proven track record of managing projects of this scale in the public sector,’’ he said.

“The Ministry of Education contract will allow us to build on that excellent record and strengthen our position in this sector.”

Mr Kerslake said DTZ’s Wellington property management team would coordinate the project, but specialists based at other offices would also be involved.

In addition to disposing of the surplus properties, the Ministry has also commissioned DTZ NZ to provide a range of advisory, technical and administrative services around the properties involved.

Mr Kerslake said that the ultimate goal was to achieve the Ministry’s annual property sales targets while satisfying the legislation such as the Public Works Act.
