Software Offers Best Fare Guarantee

Business Travel Software Offers Best Fare Guarantee

Getting specific about their travel trends and spends is top of the list for New Zealand companies when it comes to business travel, said the country's largest corporate travel company.

Research commissioned by Flight Centre (NZ) Limited's corporate division found that businesses were most interested in being able to see specific data related their travel and travel policies. Examples include reports to show when flights were booked that were not the cheapest possible option for that day.

Sales and marketing manager Greg Hamilton said the study showed businesses are more cost conscious than ever and wanted technology that offered more detailed reporting to show ways of keeping their costs down.

“The question to travel companies is not what did you save me last year, but how much can you save me in the future,” he said.

Mr Hamilton said the company's recent enhancements to technology addressed this issue by offering a 'best fare of the day' guarantee and sophisticated reporting capabilities.

Flight Centre Limited's Lumina E3 system not only searches all the possible fares for the day of travel, but performs further checks to ensure any fare decreases between the time of booking and when the ticket is issued are captured.

All the options are listed, to give travellers a choice if the cheapest fare does not suit their requirements. It also provides a further safeguard against agent or user error.

In addition, the system has the ability for clients to generate hundreds of different Crystal cubed reports at the click of a button, with the ability to tailor reports to suit.

“A report could be related to their travel policy, individual staff or departments, destinations, suppliers and so on. It is all designed to give them greater control and knowledge about where their travel spend goes, in minimal time.”
