Skycity Hamilton Community Trust Funding

14 September 2004

Two Weeks Left To Apply For Skycity Hamilton Community Trust Funding

Local community groups seeking funding for their charitable causes have just two more weeks to apply for a grant in the second annual SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust funding round.

The close off date is Thursday 30 September 2004 at 5.00pm. Trust Chairperson Margaret Evans urges community groups and charitable organisations to get their applications in before this deadline to be eligible for funding.

“The Trust will consider applications from organisations planning work that will provide a demonstrable positive benefit to people in the Waikato region. We support a broad range of initiatives from community projects, tourism programmes and projects that promote arts and culture.

“We expect to have the list of successful applicants confirmed by mid November 2004 with grants being presented to those groups at a special function on the 8th of December,” said Ms Evans. Each year in August/September, the SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust will invite applications for grants from charitable organisations and for community initiatives. Funds available for distribution by the Trust are 1.5% of the revenue from SKYCITY Hamilton’s casino operations.

For more information about the Trust, the criteria for applications or for an application form, go to www.skycityhamilton.co.nz, phone SKYCITY Hamilton on 07 834 4900 or fax 07 834- 4901. Applications forms are also available at SKYCITY Hamilton, 346 Victoria St, Hamilton. To be eligible for selection completed application forms must be received by SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust by post (P.O.Box 954) or couriered/delivered to SKYCITY Hamilton by 5.00pm on Thursday 30 September 2004.
