Life Memberships Awarded For Outstanding Contribution To Manufacturing
At the Canterbury Manufacturers' Association 125th Anniversary Dinner, Life Memberships were awarded to Cameron Moore, David Walker and Ted Mace in acknowledgement of their services to manufacturing.
Cameron Moore, now a director of his own company, Torrens Enterprises, was previously the General Manager of Chequer Packaging. Cameron has been a strong supporter of the Association, holding the office of President from 2000 to 2002, and is a member of its Executive Board. Presently he is the Chairman of the New Zealand Railways Corporation and a member of Small Business Advisory Council. The Canterbury Manufacturers' Association appreciates the work that Cameron has done over the years in support of manufacturing and the plastics industry. His manufacturing knowledge, broad industry views and his considered contributions have been invaluable to the Canterbury Manufacturers' Association.
David Walker, General Manager of Kovacs Design Furniture, was President of the CMA from 1996 to 1998 and is a member on the Executive Board. David has been actively involved with the Canterbury Furniture Manufacturers' Trade Group from 1969, serving as Chairman in 1988 and continues to support and promote the furniture industry in New Zealand. David served as the National President of the Furniture Association of New Zealand and continues to represent Canterbury as a member of their board. David was presented with his life membership award in recognition to his services to the Furniture Industry and manufacturing.
Ted Mace, Managing Director of Mace Engineering was acknowledged for his support of manufacturing and specifically the engineering industry. Mace Engineering has a long history with the CMA and as a key player in the engineering sector in New Zealand. Ted's father was President from 1965 - 1967 and a life member. Ted was President of the Association from 1994 to 1996 and continues to support the CMA as a member of the Executive Board. He is also involved with a number of other companies and takes a strong interest in the University of Canterbury and other training providers.
