THE Expo massive at Mystery Creek
Exhibitors at THE Expo, 3-5 March, are showing committed support for the event, with organisers expecting displays that will exceed expectations.
With around 100 exhibitors expected, and 85 already confirmed, THE Expo will be large in more ways than one, according to coordinator Lucy Johnston.
“A high percentage of exhibitors are taking sites at least 700 square metres in size, and the massive 8000-square metre Mystery Creek Pavilion is dominated by a small number of exhibitors,” Miss Johnston said.
“Multiply that kind of site size by 100 exhibitors, and it really will be a transport and heavy equipment Mecca.”
Visitors will see everything they would expect from a similar event, but THE Expo exhibitors plan to add more, creating plenty of interaction for potential buyers and the public.
“Because our exhibitors know THE Expo comes only once every four years, they’re putting huge effort into making sure their site is a success and creates a ‘wow’ factor for the public,” Miss Johnston said.
Truck companies attending have the opportunity to use THE Expo’s “Live Drive” facility, where visitors can experience the truck’s handling on the roads surrounding Mystery Creek Events Centre.
“A sales rep will be able to accompany their client to the truck of interest and basically take them for a drive, with or without a full load,” Miss Johnston said.
Add to that a machinery demonstration area, excavator display, a show’n’shine and more events to be confirmed over the coming months, it will be an event to remember for the next four years, Miss Johnston said.
Anyone involved with or interested in transport and heavy equipment can attend THE Expo in March for free, by registering online at ww.theexpo.co.nz. Those without internet access can fill out THE Expo brochure, available at trade outlets, truck stops and industry magazines. Pre-registration is free until February 2005.
THE Expo, 3-5 March 2005, is New Zealand’s inaugural transport and heavy equipment trade show, at Mystery Creek Events Centre. It is endorsed by the Truck-Trailer Manufacturers Federation, Motor Industry Association and Equipment Suppliers Association.
