New director elected to Ballance Board

New director elected to Ballance Board

The election of new Ballance Agri-Nutrients director Dean Nikora in Ward C (Eastern North Island) was announced to shareholders attending the co-operative’s AGM last week.

Ballance chairman David Graham says Mr Nikora’s combination of farming and business backgrounds will be of great value to the Board as it continues to refine its manufacturing, distribution and marketing strategies.

“Mr Nikora’s skills and experience will be put to good use as the board works to provide vision and guidance for New Zealand’s leading specialist fertiliser co-operative. His passion and commitment, demonstrated by active involvement in industry and community groups, are core values that sit well with the Ballance culture.”

Mr Nikora is looking forward to involving himself in Ballance business

“I am extremely committed to the success of agriculture in New Zealand. I believe that Ballance Agri-Nutrients has a vital role to play in the sustainability of farming’s competitive future by providing high quality, competitively priced nutrient management solutions.”

Mr Nikora’s experience includes: running his own Hawke’s Bay farm milking 1150 cows; councillor on Fonterra Shareholders Council; Capital Review Structure team leader; Hawke’s Bay Primary Health Organisation director; New Zealand Large Herds National Executive member; BEL Group Ltd past CEO and director; 2004 NZ Large Herds Conference chairman.

Mr Nikora replaces Bryden Lane, who has retired after 12 years on the co-operative’s board.

Ward A (Waikato/Northland) director Oliver Saxton was re-elected, as was David Graham for Ward B (Central North Island).
