Sealegs International Ltd today announced that it has shipped a 5.6m Sealegs amphibious boat to France to be displayed at the Paris International Boat show in December.
This will be the first time that Sealegs amphibious boats will be seen in the European marketplace and the Paris International Boat show, 4-13 December, is one of the largest annual boat shows in Europe.
Sealegs CEO Mr David McKee Wright says, “We are pleased to be exhibiting Sealegs at our first show in Europe. Around 25 percent of the enquiries we receive are from Europe and 14 percent are from France, so we believe that there is a good potential market for Sealegs in Europe. The Paris Boat Show is expecting 300,000 attendees and it will be the beginning of our push into the European market.”
Mr McKee Wright says that based on the strong sales experienced in New Zealand since production of the Sealegs amphibious craft began in April, with fifteen craft sold to date and nine deliveries completed, “We are excited about the sales prospects into the large European market.”
He says Sealegs would also use the Paris Boat Show as a vehicle for identifying more international distributors. “The visit to Paris will also enable us to check out the best sites along the French coast for our planned attempt next year on the world record for the fastest crossing of the English Channel by an amphibious vehicle.”
Sealegs Corporation will also be exhibiting at Big Boys Toys in Auckland next month.
