“New Radio Station For Radioworks”

29th October 2004

“New Radio Station For Radioworks”

RadioWorks, a division of CanWest MediaWorks, today announced the acquisition of Thames based radio station Coromandel FM from its founders Warren and Sandy Male.

“The purchase will take effect from 1 December, and is an important growth opportunity for RadioWorks,” said CanWest MediaWorks CEO, Brent Impey.

“The Coromandel peninsula is a fast developing area with a substantial summer market including Whitianga, Pauanui, Whangamata, Waihi Beach and Matarangi.”

There will be no changes to the name of the station, staffing or format. Warren Male will remain in his current General Manager role for the next two years.

“This is a successful local radio station, and we intend to develop the success the existing team has created,” said Mr Impey.

The purchase price is an undisclosed amount.
