Unisys strengthens New Zealand management team

Unisys strengthens New Zealand management team with new Commercial Sector Managing Partner. New local management roles created for northern and southern regions

IT services company Unisys has appointed Glenn Bittle as Partner, Global Commercial Industries New Zealand.

Based in Auckland, Bittle will focus on driving business development and the delivery of consulting services in the commercial sector. New Zealand is a key market for Unisys in the commercial sector and Bittle will be responsible for programme development and strategic direction for new business, and existing customers that include The Warehouse and PlaceMakers.

In addition to driving growth and responsibility for overall quality of services delivered in the commercial sector, Bittle will also oversee the management of the Auckland office, with the additional role of Northern Regional Manager. He comments, “I look forward to strengthening my team and harnessing its collective wealth of commitment, energy and skill to bring renewed client focus, and respond to the needs of New Zealand industry. I also plan to drive business development in key markets by delivering our world-class range of services with regional expertise and support.”

Bittle brings a wealth of industry experience to the Unisys management team from his work spanning over 20 years primarily focused on the use of technology to drive business value. Most recently Bittle assisted Fonterra Co-operative Group’s establishment of a new IT application support model. Prior to that he was a partner at Deloitte Consulting, responsible for building its NZ SAP practice from 1995 to 2001 and then for the delivery of application outsourcing services to Telstra.

Commenting on the new appointment, Mike Ettling, Managing Director Unisys ANZ, said, “Glenn has shown outstanding business acumen and leadership in his previous roles and has been a driving force behind many high-profile projects. His skills will be an asset to our clients and how we support them in New Zealand.”

Glenn holds a B.M.S (Hons) in Management Studies from Waikato University.

Separately, Brett Hodgson, Sales Director Public Sector, Australia-New Zealand, has also been appointed Southern Region Manager, based in Wellington and managing that office.

“Unisys continues to invest in New Zealand, on the back of continuing sales success,” comments Mike Ettling. “We continue to build our practices in secure supply chain, business process and IT outsourcing, and managed infrastructure services. We’re very active at the moment, particularly in the commercial, financial services and public sector markets. And we also continue our focus in telecommunications and in transportation.”
