New Garden Editor For Your Home & Garden
New Garden Editor For Your Home & Garden
ACP Media Ltd, New Zealand’s leading magazine publisher, today announced the appointment of Kiwi gardening personality Lynda Hallinan to the newly created position of garden editor on its monthly title Your Home & Garden magazine.
Lynda will edit an expanded and revamped gardening section to be launched from the March issue of Your Home & Garden.
The new initiative is part of ACP Media’s ongoing investment in its highly successful monthly homemaker title. The new gardening section will be tailored to the DIY interests of Your Home & Garden readers, and provide information on creating courtyards, gardens and outdoor spaces.
“Lynda Hallinan has emerged as one of this country’s leading gardening authorities through her popular newspaper and magazine columns, her role as a presenter on TVNZ’s gardening programme Ground Rules, and her recent book Garden in Style,” said Debra Millar, Group Publisher-Consumer Titles. “We know that our readers are keenly interested in their gardens and Lynda will fuel them with ideas to make the most of their outdoor space, whether it be a pocket-sized patio or family friendly suburban site.”
Lynda joins an experienced and high-profile editorial team at Your Home & Garden: earlier this year Julie Biuso was appointed food editor on the magazine, and Master of Wine Bob Campbell was recruited to provide wine commentary.
“By expanding the magazine’s gardening content, we are providing readers with a title that delivers a comprehensive monthly home and garden guide,” said Debra Millar.
Your Home and Garden’s circulation is 47,179 (ABC, Jan-Jun 2004). The magazine’s readership is 291,000 (Nielsen Readership Survey, Jul 03-Jun 04). Nielsen readership information confirms that the magazine’s readers are keen gardeners: with 62 per cent having done some gardening activity over the last three months, and more than a third having been to a garden centre in the last month.
