Network PR and Barfoot & Thompson celebrate international PR Award
Network PR’s work on behalf of leading Auckland and Northland real estate firm Barfoot & Thompson has been acknowledged as world class by the judges of the 2004 Asia Pacific PR Awards.
Network PR scooped the Corporate Communications category at this year’s awards ceremony in Hong Kong ahead of significant international competition.
The award was received for the highly successful Barfoot & Thompson Magic of Reading programme at Starship Hospital, which sees each child who stays a night or more receive a book of their own to entertain them during their stay and take home with them at the end. Network PR developed the concept and brokered the relationship with Starship. It has also enhanced the programme through PR activities such as bringing sporting heroes into the hospital to read to the children and sign autographs.
Network PR has since assisted Barfoot & Thompson to grow its relationship with Starship to Five Star Sponsor status.
Network PR General Manager Jane Dodd is delighted to see the Barfoot & Thompson account team’s work acknowledged in this way.
“It’s an honour to have our work recognised in this international forum. Being judged overall winner of the Corporate Communications section demonstrates the great client relationship developed by Network PR. It’s a credit to Account Director Marie Hosking and the Barfoot & Thompson account team.”
Barfoot & Thompson Director Peter Thompson says “It is very pleasing to have international PR practitioners recognise the value of one of our core PR activities. We congratulate the Network PR team on this achievement.”
