Hyundai Is In The News Again

Immediate release

Hyundai hits the headlines

Hyundai is in the news again.

In the past week the fast-rising brand has scored two notable awards here in New Zealand.

In the sports sponsorship awards from Government-backed agency SPARC, Hyundai took the Best Media Sponsorship Award for its role with Hyundai Sports Café.

And the influential Company Vehicle and Executive Cars Magazine has named the new Hyundai Tucson its 4WD of the Year.

"Naturally we are delighted with both of these awards coming in one week," commented the General Manager of Hyundai Automotive NZ, Philip Eustace.

"It's great being involved with Ric and his wacky crew on Hyundai Sports Café. It's a popular show which takes our brand out to a big audience in a fun way.

"We will be back as sponsor of the show next year when we look forward to more live shows from new venues around the country.

"At the same time our new Tucson is a winner for us in the very competitive compact SUV market ... to the extent that we simply have not been able to source enough to meet demand.

"We will be well into next year before we have sufficient stocks of both the 2-litre and the 2.7-litre V6 models, that's over six months after we launched Tucson," Mr Eustace explained.

Bristling with advanced specifications, the Tucson is already being acclaimed worldwide as a trend-setter in one of the market's fastest-growing segments.

Best of all the Tucson meets the New Zealand market with a price tag of $29,990 for the two-litre manual and $39,990 for the powerful 2.7-litre V6 with standard auto and leather interior.

Tucson has been part of the success story which has propelled Hyundai's passenger vehicle sales to be over 70% higher than YTD 2003, as the brand is increasingly recognised for its quality, safety and value for money.
