Provenco Appoints Rick Christie As Independent Director

The Chairman of Provenco Group Limited (NZX:PVO) , David Wolfenden today announced that Rick Christie will join the board as an additional independent director, with immediate effect.

“Provenco has a strong business base, good management and a high level of technological expertise. It came through the dot-com era and has demonstrated determination and skill in re-inventing its business base. It has become one of the new breed of New Zealand export businesses, a technology company with a strong domestic business and an exciting future,” said Mr Christie today.

Mr Christie is a highly experienced businessman and company director, with a strong background in the oil industry, the export sector and New Zealand public policy initiatives for growth and innovation.

He spent 21 years in the oil industry in New Zealand and overseas and nearly nine years in the export sector, including six years as Chief Executive of TRADENZ (the New Zealand Trade Development Board). He then joined diversified investment company Rangatira as chief executive for 4 years.

His current directorships include Growth and Innovation Advisory Board (chair), AgResearch Limited (chair), EBOS Group Limited (chair), Tourism Holdings Limited, Wakefield Hospital Limited and the NZ Pork Industry Board.

“It is not often that you find someone with Rick’s track record and expertise and we believe he will be a vital asset to Provenco’s board,” Provenco chairman David Wolfenden said.

“His experience in the oil and export sectors as well as the public policy around growth and innovation will be particularly valuable given our strong focus on developing our exports of hardware and software to the retail petroleum industry in Asia and beyond.”
