Woosh strengthens its management team

Woosh Wireless today announced that it has strengthened its executive management team with the appointment of Richard Cane to the role of Chief Operating Officer.

The Chief Executive of Woosh Wireless, Bob Smith, says Richard brings 16 years of industry experience in major United States and international markets to this new role.

“This, together with his exceptionally strong technical background, will deliver added impetus to our roll-out and technology programmes,” says Mr Smith.

“Richard has worked in leadership roles for the past 10 years and has worked with both major technology companies and start-up ventures. In his most recent role as Chief Operating Officer for PrimeCo Personal Communications in Illinois he was responsible for all network, IT and business operations.

“Richard spent 10 years working with Bell Atlantic and was Director of their Southwest region mobile network. He also served as Chief Technical Officer of their International Wireless operation in Mexico.”

Bob Smith says Woosh has already benefited from Richard’s expertise in a consultancy capacity and that in his new role he will be part of the company’s top executive team with direct responsibilities in the network, IT, business analysis, customer support, product development and the introduction of new technologies.

“We are continuing to move strongly ahead with the roll-out of our network and the marketing of our wireless broadband services.

“We expect 2005 to be a big year for us, and Richard’s expertise adds a further dimension to the strong management team that we have in place.”
