Industry Research Shows Cardrona #1
Research by the Ski Areas Association of New Zealand has identified Cardrona Alpine Resort as New Zealand’s leading ski area.
Cardrona scored the highest in overall ski area rating and overall staff service and did consistently well in other areas of the research which was undertaken throughout the 2004 season by surveying visitors at each of New Zealand’s ski areas.
New Zealand’s longest terrain park was also rated New Zealand’s best, scoring top marks for both terrain park features and pipe/park grooming. The half pipes also came out top, reinforcing Cardrona’s position as an internationally recognised freestyle destination and its long-term commitment to developing the sports of freestyle skiing and snowboarding in New Zealand.
Cardrona’s commitment to raising the level of family skiing was also recognised by the visitors who rated the ski area as New Zealand’s best for children with its extensive facilities, excellent quality of groomed slopes and high level of safety on the slopes.
“This research shows Cardrona’s continual investment in the ski area, constantly upgrading facilities and ensuring our clients’ expectations are met in all areas, is well justified,” said Cardrona’s marketing manager, Bruce McGechan. “The survey covered a broad cross section of the domestic and international winter sports market. Cardrona’s top placing illustrates our commitment to investing in the future of the New Zealand winter sports industry as well as our universal appeal, ranging from young families to new school freestyle skiers and snowboarders.”
