AA Announces New Joint Venture with LemonCheck
The AA is joining forces with LemonCheck to launch AA LemonCheck - an online service that has the capability to search and provide a comprehensive history report on a vehicle prior to purchasing.
Officially launched today, AA LemonCheck aims to take the worry out of purchasing a vehicle. AA LemonCheck is designed to produce a Vehicle History Report by searching more than 3 million car records held in various government and private databases - it then 'interrogates' this data identifying New Zealand stolen cars, security interests (money owing), adverse accident history, ownership history, and odometer history.
Stella Stocks, General Manager AA Technical Services, says the new service is designed to help consumers make well-informed car-buying decisions and stamp out the huge problem of thousands of vehicles being sold illegally each year.
"The need to verify ownership details and security registrations is paramount. It's alarming that some consumers are relying on inadequate reporting systems to conduct checks on the history of prospective vehicle purchases. The new AA LemonCheck reporting system checks all registered number plates."
AA LemonCheck supplies detailed information in approximately 10 seconds on any car the prospective buyer may be wishing to purchase. Features reported on include accident and odometer history, customs' warnings, legal roadworthy status, deregistration and outstanding road user charges.
AA LemonCheck's Vehicle History Report is available on any registered vehicle in New Zealand, including: cars, vans, trucks, motorbikes, caravans, trailers, and boats.
AA LemonCheck can also provide a Vehicle Valuation Report - giving pricing details on thousands of passenger and light commercial vehicles, including wholesale and retail.
