AA Rewards Swipe Out Relaunched

Media Release: 11 March 2005

AA Rewards Swipe Out Relaunched With Cars, Trips To New York, Scooters And Segway Giveaways

The highly successful AA Rewards program will be re-launched next week with the addition of a huge prize pool that includes new Suzuki Swifts, Retro Electric Scooters, Segway personal transporters, trips to New York and Apple Mini iPods.

Major prizes will be drawn on a weekly basis for AA Members who have collected AA Reward points at any one of the 1,400 Rewards Partner Stores or have paid their TelstraClear, Vodafone or Genesis Energy accounts or renewed or taken out any AA Insurance or Financial Services products.

AA Membership General Manager, Dougal Swift, said that since AA Rewards was originally launched in 1998, Members have received nearly $40 million in direct benefits.

"AA Rewards has grown strongly over the last 12 months with 83% of the AA's Members earning AA Rewards Points during the year. A dozen partners have joined in the last 12 months and more new partners will be announced shortly", Mr. Swift said.

"The re-launch of AA Rewards Swipe Out adds fun to what is already a strong proposition. Unlike other schemes our Rewards Points have a transparent cash value with $20 Discount Coupons issued automatically when Members have earned 200 Points.

"Research shows our Members like Rewards because they can put points towards what they really want instead of trying to pick something from a catalogue or access frequent flier points which can be difficult to use.

"At the end of each Membership year unused Rewards Points provide a discount on a Member's annual subscription, making Membership even cheaper," he said.

AA Rewards is a program available exclusively to AA Members. The AA currently has over one-million personal and corporate Members.
