AA Motoring Excellence Awards Continue
Three more AA Motoring Excellence Awards has been presented at a prestigious black tie function at the Langham Hotel in Auckland this evening.
The National Bank Medium / Large Car Award has been presented to the Volvo V50 T5 Wagon. There were 12 vehicles in the category and while the Volvo was at the top end of the price bracket, the judges felt its practicality, clever technology and balance lifted it above the pack.
The Vero Insurance Luxury Car Award was decided from a field that included the Lexus LS 430, the Audi A6, the Saab 93 Aero Convertible, the Mitsubishi Pajero Exceed and the Audi A8 4.2 Quattro. The winner of this Excellence Award was the Audi A6 3.2 FSI Quattro Tiptronic through an impressive combination of refinement and handling.
One of the largest categories was the Castrol Lifestyle Class. There were 15 vehicles entered in this category which reflects the popularity of lifestyle vehicles in New Zealand . In the end the Ford Territory TX AWD Auto impressed the judges sufficiently to continue its award winning ways.
In all eleven AA Motoring Excellence Award category winners will be named tonight with one of these winners selected to receive the supreme AA Motoring Excellence Award.
The next category winners to be announced will include the BP Soft Touch Technology Award for Performance Vehicle and the Bridgestone Convertible Car.
