The Complete Entertainment Experience At Hoyts Riccarton
Christchurch cinemagoers are now able to experience the utmost in cinema entertainment at the new Hoyts Riccarton cinema complex.
The multi-million dollar Hoyts Riccarton cinema complex is at the hub of the new Rotherham St entertainment area and boasts a number of special features. The new complex houses six cinemas, with seating for almost 1500 people. Cinema five of Hoyts Riccarton - the "Cinemaxx" cinema - is home to the largest purpose built 35mm screen in New Zealand. All cinemas feature the latest in screen and sound technology with plush stadium seating.
Catering to the astute cinemagoer, four of the six cinemas contain luxury seating with side tables, and an in cinema waiter service available offering wine and cheese platters and a range of tapas and desserts.
To complete the cinema entertainment package, before or after a movie, cinemagoers can enjoy a coffee whilst surfing the net at the cinema's Intermission café, which hosts Wi-Fi - free wireless internet connection for customers. Kids of all ages can celebrate their birthday in the birthday party room.

Hoyts Riccarton is located on Rotherham St in the redeveloped Westfield Riccarton shopping centre. Hoyts Riccarton will celebrate its official opening on Saturday 2 April, 2005. Throughout the day, cinema patrons can catch a movie for the special ticket price of $5. In the evening, Hoyts Riccartion will officially open with a red carpet gala charity event and the New Zealand premiere of Robots, attended by Prime Minister Helen Clark. Proceeds from the $5 movie tickets and the gala opening will go to Variety, the Children's Charity.
To coincide with the official opening of Hoyts Riccarton, Westfield Riccarton are holding a Family Fiesta on Rotherham St, from 6.00pm - 9.30pm on Saturday 2 April, 2005, where there will be a number of exciting rides, street performers and a special performance by Goldenhorse.
