1st Major Winner in AA Rewards Swipe Out Announced

First Major Winner in AA Rewards / Swipe Out Announced

The first major Swipe Out prize winner was announced by the AA's President Graeme Nind at their Annual Conference today.

The winner of the Suzuki Swift - one of 12 being given away - is Sarah Nesbitt of Rotomanu on the West Coast. Sarah visited the AA Vehicle Inspection Centre in Greymouth for a pre-purchase inspection on a second-hand car she was buying. She bought the car and also won a brand new Suzuki Swift, just by swiping her AA Membership card.

Other major prizes to be won include retro electric scooters, Segways, trips to New York , Apple iPod Minis and more. At least one major prize will be won every week .

Prizes can be won by AA Members who have collected AA Rewards Points at any one of the 1,400 AA Rewards Partner Stores nationwide or have paid their TelstraClear, Vodafone or Genesis Energy accounts or renewed or taken out any AA Insurance or Financial Services products.

AA Membership General Manager, Dougal Swift, said that since AA Rewards was originally launched in 1998, Members have received nearly $40 million in direct benefits.

"The re-launch of AA Rewards Swipe Out adds fun to what is already a strong proposition. Unlike other schemes our Rewards Points have a transparent cash value with $20 Discount Coupons issued automatically when Members have earned 200 Points.

"83% of the AA's Members earned AA Rewards Points last year and the programme now has 48 partners including BP, TelstraClear, Vodafone, Genesis Energy, Betta Electrical, Holiday Shoppe, Firestone and other leading brands. A dozen partners have joined in the last 12 months and more new partners will be announced shortly.

"Research shows our Members like Rewards because they can put points towards what they really want instead of trying to pick something from a catalogue or access frequent flier points which can be difficult to use. At the end of each Membership year unused Rewards Points provide a discount on a Member's annual subscription, making Membership even cheaper," he said.

AA Rewards is a program available exclusively to AA Members. The AA currently has over one-million personal and corporate Members.
