Hyundai Tucson wins Japanese Good Design Award
Hyundai has won yet another international award, this one from the Japanese!
The compact SUV Tucson has been handed the 2004 Good Design Award at a ceremony in Tokyo sponsored by the Japanese Industrial Design Promotion Organization.
The Tucson was bestowed with the highest honour by the Association in the imported SUV section in recognition of its elegant, creative and practical design.
Doubly impressive is that fact that Hyundai has contested the Japanese market for just four years.
“This is further testimony to the excellence of Hyundai's design on the world stage,” commented the General Manager of Hyundai Automotive NZ, Philip Eustace.
“Hyundai is very proud of this award, and it certainly adds to the Hyundai brand image.”
The award caps a brilliant 2004 in which Hyundai succeeded in repeatedly capturing the limelight with several awards such as the Russian Effie Award for the Best Brand, the top level award in the strictest U.S. Collision Test won by Elantra, Top ranking by the Sonata in J.D Power and Associates survey for Initial Quality and the Grand Prix of MIMS won by the Tucson in Moscow for its excellent design.
“All of these achievements are proof that Hyundai's
advancement in the global market is creating a benchmark in
providing a quality product that satisfies the needs and
tastes of consumers worldwide, at an excellent price, said
Mr Eustace.
