Harcourts Achieves First Billion Dollar Month
Just weeks after recording its best month ever in its 117 year history, Harcourts New Zealand again broke its record for the value of written sales by achieving its first billion dollar month in March.
Despite cautions from many commentators regarding a slowdown in the property industry, and the Easter break falling in March which saw many buyers and sellers on holiday, Harcourts’ over 170 offices nationwide still wrote a total value of $1.013 billion worth of property contracts.
This was hot on the heels of the month of February which saw Harcourts New Zealand write just on a record $940 million worth of property contracts, with Harcourts International (including Australia) achieving $1.4 billion.
CEO of Harcourts New Zealand, Bryan Thomson, said, “To achieve these results at a time when commentators are talking about a slowdown makes us very proud of our people and the efforts they make every day everywhere in the group.”
He added, “Harcourts has had a quite deliberate and determined commitment to the recruitment of great people, backed up by ongoing professional development along with structured support and growth opportunities. We believe this approach plays a crucial part in ensuring our clients can confidently select a Harcourts consultant for their real estate needs knowing they are using the very best in the business backed by a brand they can trust.”
Mr Thomson noted, “We look forward to Harcourts New Zealand’s personal best in achieving our first billion dollar month being short lived as another stepping stone in our growth plans.”
As the fastest
growing real estate group in Australasia, Harcourts now has
174 offices throughout New Zealand and Fiji with a further
close to 160 throughout Queensland, New South Wales, South
Australia, Tasmania, Western Australia, and
Indonesia.
