Good Survey For Radioworks

Good Survey For Radioworks

RadioWorks is very satisfied with results from the latest radio survey in Auckland, Waikato, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.

“Our key brands have all performed well in their target audiences and I’m confident we are on track to achieve the goals set by the company for 2005,” said Jana Rangooni, RadioWorks’ Group Programme Director.

More FM now has the most listeners* (45,100) in Auckland amongst its target 25-39 year olds. In the five major markets surveyed its core target audience share of 25-39 females has improved by 21.6% from 7.4 to 9.0% survey on survey.

“The Dunedin result, a 19.5% share in target**, is particularly pleasing given the recent rebranding of 4X0 as More FM,” said Ms Rangooni. “This was probably the most important number for us to see this survey round, given the investment into the rebrand of our local stations, the remainder of whom do not have a survey until September this year.”

The Edge is again New Zealand’s most listened to radio station, with a total (all people 10 plus) weekly cumulative audience of 421,700 people listening every week.

“This shows the breadth of appeal The Edge has, with nearly half a million New Zealanders tuning into the station every week,” Ms Rangooni said.

The Rock goes from strength to strength and is the number one station nationwide in its target audience (25-39 Males), with an 18.7% share of that audience nationally.

“The Rock is a monster. It has enjoyed consistent growth across most markets in the country,” she said.

These three radio networks, and our newly launched Radio Live, remain the focus for RadioWorks’ growth in 2005.

Meanwhile, our other brands continue to play an important role in our strategy to cover the spectrum of audience appeal in our total radio offering.
