New Timaru Branch
Strengthens Harveys Presence
1 June 2005: - Harveys
Real Estate has increased its presence in the Mainland by
adding a fourth office to its South Island network in
Timaru.
Carter & Associates Ltd switch to Harveys Timaru is effective from today (1 June). This follows the acquisition by Harveys of two offices in Christchurch and one in Temuka in recent months.
Harveys Director Ross Barraclough is delighted branch owner Roger Carter and the Timaru team decided to join the Harveys network. “We are pleased that another top realtor has joined the Harveys team and look forward to incorporating their experience and regional knowledge into the network.”
Like others before him Carter says he decided to join Harveys because of the support, resources and sense of professionalism it offers to its franchise holders throughout the country.
A former Aucklander, he moved to Timaru to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and says “more people are realising the lifestyle benefits a rural town has to offer.” He finds those interested in buying real estate in Timaru “range from people looking for somewhere to retire, to workers and families from large cities seeking a better lifestyle.”
The South Canterbury property market has enjoyed steady growth over the past few years and has welcomed out-of-towners, including visitors from overseas who enjoy the region’s endless variety of outdoor sporting attractions. Timaru has also benefited from a buoyant job market, which has attracted people from metropolitan areas who may otherwise have been reluctant to move to a smaller centre.
The new office is situated on the ground floor of the former government life building, which happens to be the tallest building in Timaru, so is hard to miss. Carter is confident the prominent location means growth is likely to continue throughout 2005 and into the future.
