Skycity Queenstown Casino Develops New Entertainment Area

SKYCITY Queenstown Casino this week opens its new-look entrance, bar and lounge area, just in time for the influx of visitors to the region with the onset of the 2005 Winter Festival.

The redevelopment which extends the existing bar area onto the gaming floor, provides a larger service area and includes a new giant plasma TV screen - which will be timely to catch the first Lions versus All Blacks rugby test action this weekend.

In addition, new comfortable booth style seating around the fireplace enhances the total entertainment experience.

Paul Wilson, General Manager, SKYCITY Queenstown Casino is thrilled with the renovations.

"SKYCITY Queenstown Casino opened in December 2000 and this is the first major redevelopment of the property," he says.

"The significant investment reinforces SKYCITY's commitment to the region and comes at an exciting time for us as we gear up for the busy Winter Festival and ski season," he says.

SKYCITY Queenstown Casino is proud to once again be the major sponsor for the SKYCITY Jazz Night (Sunday 03 July 2005) and the SKYCITY Comedy Night (SKYCITY Queenstown Casino Friday 8 July 2005) - already both are sold out events.

SKYCITY Queenstown Casino also features regular live entertainment in the bar every night throughout the Queenstown Winter Festival - including the Masters Blasters, Marty Astone Blues Band, Brett Strachan and Neil Chilton.
