Westpac Manukau Business Excellence Awards

Remarkable response to Westpac Manukau Business Excellence Awards

Entries in the Westpac Manukau Business Excellence Awards closed on 20 June, receiving 75 entries in the 12 categories, plus eight nominations for the Trust Manukau Contribution to the Community Award.

"We'd like to thank all of those who entered this year's awards", says Dave Jones, Westpac's Regional Business Manager. "It's a brave move, to put your business on the line and stand up and be counted and Westpac applauds everyone who's submitted a nomination. The really important part of this awards programme is that every business gets the opportunity to have their businesses rigorously assessed and benchmarked providing a unique experience for all entrants. The bottom line is that everyone will come away with something valuable to add back into their business."

While uptake across all categories was significant, the strongest were those that recognize innovation, manufacturing, and excellence in small business. David Flett, business development and investment manager for Manukau City Council says, "This is representative of the city's strengths, and of this sector's willingness to achieve excellence."

Finalists in the programme will be announced on 11 July, and winners will be revealed at the Awards Gala Dinner, on Thursday 18 August at the Telstra Clear Pacific Events Centre. The dinner is one of the highlights of the year for the city's top businesses, and this year will be attended by over 1,000 people. Visit http://www.bizawards.co.nz/ for details of finalists and to book your place at the prestigious business event.
