Zespri Joins Forces With Dancing With the Stars’ Bernice Mene for Kidsfair
Dancing with the Stars contestant and former Silver Ferns captain, Bernice Mene will be swapping her dancing shoes for kiwifruit at the KidsFair 2005 in Auckland this weekend [Sunday 10 July 2005].
Bernice will be on the ZESPRI stand at the KidsFair handing out ZESPRI™ GREEN and GOLD Kiwifruit and espousing the nutritional benefits of kiwifruit.
“Kiwifruit are packed with vitamins and minerals, they’re easy to eat and they taste great,” said Bernice.
And they’re just the energy-packed goodness she needs during her busy week, combining career counselling, education work, athlete mentoring and, more recently, during Dancing with the Stars.
Bite for bite, Kiwifruit contains more vitamins and minerals than most of other popular fruits. A serving of two Kiwifruit contains the Vitamin C of two oranges, the potassium of a banana, and all the fibre of one bowl of bran. Kiwifruit are also rich in lutein, an antioxidant known to reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease.
As well as sampling New Zealand’s leading horticultural export, kids visiting the ZESPRI stand can enter the competition to win a $200 gift voucher of their choice.
Bernice Mene will be on the ZESPRI stand from 10.30am to 1pm and from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday 10 July 2005.
ZESPRI is the biggest marketer of kiwifruit in the world and is regarded as the world leader in its category. ZESPRI is also New Zealand’s leading horticultural exporter, with sales of more than $1 billion.
