Sail away from the silly season this summer and save
P&O Cruises has announced introductory discounts of up to 45% for Pacific Sky's first ever summer season.
The 'silly' season will see the 1,550-passenger liner based in Auckland for four voyages to the South Pacific. These departures include:
* A pre Christmas departure on the 7th December for 10 nights from $1336 per person*
* A Christmas cruise departing on the 17th December to Tonga and Fiji for 10 nights from $1524 per person*
* A New Years Eve cruise to the South Pacific for 12 nights, departing on 27th December from $2109 per person*.
* A school holiday cruise for
10 night, departing on the 8th January, from as little as
$1457 per person*
Special fares of up to 45% off are also available aboard Pacific Sky's two repositioning cruises, which take in ports around New Zealand as the ship travels to or from Melbourne.
P&O Cruises New Zealand Manager Shannon Currie says the summer holiday offer is ideal for families wishing to escape the busy New Zealand Christmas scene.
"Parents can enjoy some well-deserved time-out with three cruises in the primary school holidays and four in the secondary school holidays - all at very reasonable prices considering what's included."
Children can spend time in the supervised kid's clubs and partake in a range of activities including dance parties, dress-ups, painting, games, toys, talent and theme shows, movies and of course water-based thrills in the pools!
Parents and big kids can then decide whether to sit back and relax, or engage in the many facilities and planned activities available as part of the cruise fare.
Fares on board Pacific Sky include breakfast, full buffet lunch, five course dinners and theme nights as well as access to the ships' many bars and lounges. There's a variety of live entertainment every night and a host of activities during the day.
The ship features three pools, a health spa, gym, ship-top jogging track, show lounge, cinema, casino, internet centre, nightclub, library, 24-hour pizzeria and a children's centre.
Destinations in Pacific Sky's 2005 summer programme include ports in Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Tonga and Fiji. The beauty of cruising is you can reach destinations that are very hard to get to by land, such as popular Emerald Bay in New Caledonia, P&O Cruises says.
