Our judges' comments on the supreme winner:
In this inaugural year of the Sales and Marketing Institute Awards, we are very happy to be able to announce the overall - the Supreme Award. In our assessment of this award we are acknowledging the combination of excellence in both the field of Sales and the field of Marketing. Our Award winner epitomises the skills that are required for each of these disciplines.
The finalists for the Supreme Award has been drawn from the category winners - all of which should be congratulated for their achievements. And we would like to thank the judges for their dedication in deciding the best in each category. We would also like to point out that our judges are all top performers in their fields and as such, to impress them - a whole cross section of peers - is no mean feat!
But there is only place for one Supreme winner. Firstly their application was succinct yet had all the information we needed to understand that their customers recognise that expectations and promises have been exceeded at a multiple of different levels. And this holds some sway in our judgement_after all, it is the customer and their dollar that keeps our businesses thriving. And to have the highest levels of endorsements from customers is critical in our opinion.
Customers commented:
'They have exceeded all expectations. Sales are up 89% on the previous period last year. The strength of the brand has not yet reached its full potential. A combination of aggressive marketing, good in stock positioning, and business relationships have all contributed to this success.'
'Their product innovation, willingness to act upon challenges, and execute effective branding and sales strategies has been evident in the phenomenal sales growth. They have delivered a comprehensive branding and promotional concept. The cohesiveness of the concept flows throughout. No stone has been left unturned'
Secondly, they didn't just replicate what others had done before them. They have approached both Sales and Marketing with freshness and innovation. But this has not been their sole focus. As we have already said, they really do take care of their customers and certainly go the extra mile_again and again. Then there is the team spirit they have engendered throughout their organisation_and it_s palpable. Everyone who has come in contact with any aspect of their company sees and feels their enthusiasm and the dedication.
We wish to congratulate all the winners - every one of them has shown themselves to be special in some way. Our supreme winner has shown themselves to be special in every way.
President's comment: "The award winners
were completely peer evaluated by their customers, company
managers and fellow professional sales and marketing
managers and practioners. I believe these winners and all
the finalists show the contribution that sales and marketing
makes to the economy and business success. The Supreme Award
winner, Rene Bros from 42Below, really demonstrates the New
Zealand can-do attitude of success, and in winning has set
the example for others to follow.
