Marketing Demon Marketer Of The Year
Marketing Demon Runs Away With Marketer Of The Year Award
Callum Davies, Hell Pizza’s Marketing Demon, took away top honours being named Marketer of the Year at the Marketing Awards last Thursday night.
Davies beat out some very stiff competition including the Vice President of Marketing for McDonalds and the Marketing Director for Griffins. With a miniscule marketing budget (relative to market norms and his competitors), it took the fresh, daring, and bold talents of Davies to lead Hell Pizza to the phenomenal success and growth the company has experienced recently.
Graham Medcalf, editor of Marketing Magazine, stated that “the branding which may, to some observers, appear as chaos, was seen (by the judges) to be underpinned with a strong, disciplined strategy and a remarkable customer sensitivity. The founder of Hell Pizza has created a marketing assault that is so different and so edgy, that in the face of some extremely strong competition the judges were compelled to vote Davies the winner”.
“Callum” the judges said, “has gone out and taken a big risk in breaking into a highly competitive market. In doing so he has managed to achieve distinctiveness and a differentiation for Hell, which he has been able to manage and develop”.
Davies has never been one to play by the rules. This refusal to conform to industry norms in any way has seen Hell Pizza grow from one store in 1996 (opened by Davies at 18) to 38 stores today. He is incredibly passionate about what he does, and takes providing “damn fine food” very seriously.
Medcalf went on to state that “Davies’ vision for Hell Pizza and his ability to communicate and develop a personality for the brand are turning the company into a marketing success story”. This is an innovative, creative and resourceful Marketing Demon who will be ensuring we all see (and taste!) a lot more of Hell Pizza in the near future.
