Upgrade for Hamilton convention facility
Mystery Creek Events Centre is planning an upgrade to its convention facilities
Mystery Creek Events Centre general manager Barry Quayle said “finishing and quality fittings are a key part of improvements” to the Mystery Creek Convention Centre.
“Refinements were always on the cards once the new centre had been tested in large meeting conditions,” Mr Quayle said.
“Feedback gained from clients and conferences over the year has pinpointed where further investments can be made to enhance the meeting experience.”
“New carpets, special lighting, furnishings and kitchen equipment are key components of the next phase of development.”
Mystery Creek Convention Centre staff recently attended Meetings 2005 in Auckland with Waikato accommodation providers, venues and Tourism Waikato, to present the region’s capabilities to conference and convention buyers from throughout Australia.
Mr Quayle said they are following up on a number of “positive contacts” from the event.
“It is promising for future increased activity in this sector.”
The Mystery Creek Convention Centre was completed in January 2005 and has a flexible meeting capacity up to 2000.
Mr Quayle said Hamilton needs the 500 to 2000 quality meeting and convention capability and Mystery Creek Events Centre is keen to provide it.
“The Mystery Creek Convention Centre will add significantly to economic activity in the region over the next decade.”
