Second strike at National Aluminium
Workers at National Aluminium in Hamilton will strike tomorrow in support of their five per cent pay claim.
Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union national secretary Andrew Little said that the workers had today overwhelmingly rejected a 4.25 per cent pay offer from the company.
“Five per cent is the going rate across the country, and these workers believe that they deserve that,” he said.
The workers will strike for 24 hours, and next week will continue with an overtime ban. Their first 24-hour strike was in July.
