Online Car Buyers to Benefit from AA and Trade Me Partnership
A new partnership between the AA and Trade Me will now give online car buyers more protection.
AA Vehicle Inspections will be the sole provider of Pre-Purchase Inspections for cars bought and sold on Trade Me Motors, New Zealand’s biggest automotive website.
“Our partnership with Trade Me means that consumers now have the ability to protect themselves against dodgy cars when purchasing online,” says Brendan Thompson, National Manager, AA Vehicle Services.
“Online vehicle purchases have become increasingly popular in recent times, however buying a car unseen can be deemed as risky. By joining forces with Trade Me Motors we aim to minimise the risk by providing remote pre-purchase inspections to Trade Me’s online community. Our electronic inspection technology gives people the option to buy a vehicle online without having to physically view it. We do the hard work for you,” he said.
“The AA is the only inspection provider in the country that utilises electronic inspection reports, this includes a comprehensive account on the vehicle’s condition and digital photographs of the vehicle, which than then be emailed through to the prospective buyer,” said Mr Thompson.
Mike O’Donnell, Business Manager at Trade Me, says that the partnership provides great value to Trade Me’s 1.2million members.
“This is a great service for Trade Me members. It gives them the good oil on any car, anywhere in the country,” he says.
“It makes sense for New Zealand’s most popular website to partner with the country’s largest motoring association – everybody wins,” says Mr O’Donnell.
Trade Me sells over 270 cars each day. The latest Nielsen / NetRatings figures show Trade Me had over 1.9mllion unique visitors in August alone.
