Transfield Services New Zealand appoints new CEO

Transfield Services today announced that Graeme Sumner had been appointed CEO Transfield Services New Zealand. Mr Sumner is currently the Managing Director of Siemens New Zealand Ltd, a position he has held for the last five years. Peter Watson, Managing Director of Transfield Services said he was delighted with the appointment.

“Graeme Sumner is a highly qualified executive with extensive management experience. His track record growing businesses with Siemens, and before that with Telecom, make him ideal to grow the Transfield Services New Zealand operations,” Mr Watson said. Transfield Services recently consolidated its businesses in New Zealand and integrated them into a separate Business Unit. Today Transfield Services New Zealand is one of the country’s largest employers.

Prior to working for Siemens, Mr Sumner held senior positions with New Zealand Post, Contact Energy Limited in New Zealand, Telecom New Zealand, Centron Corporation and IBM in the UK and Sweden.
