Hirepool Branch
Network Tops 50 With Openings In Nelson And Tauranga ‘ Super
Centre’
New Zealand rental equipment leader, Hirepool
Limited, has expanded its nationwide network to beyond 50
outlets with the opening of three new branches this month in
Nelson and Tauranga.
Earlier this month Hirepool acquired the Handi Hire business in Nelson, which comprises two sites—one in the CBD and another in Tahunanui, halfway between Stoke and Nelson. Then this week it officially opened its big new multi-million-dollar ‘Super Centre’ in Tauranga, which brings to 52 its total number of outlets across the country.
The opening of the new Tauranga branch on Pyes Pa Rd, adjacent to the Rotorua-Tauranga highway, completes a $ 5million investment into the Bay of Plenty region by Hirepool with branches in Rotorua, Mt Maunganui and Tauranga. While the Handi Hire acquisition now gives Hirepool five outlets in Nelson-Marlborough.
“ We are delighted to have such a strong presence in two of the fastest-growing regions in the country,” says Hirepool Managing Director, Tenby Powell. “ They both have a very strong and vibrant commercial infrastructure based on horticulture, viticulture and port activity.
“ This now completes phase one of our growth strategy to achieve national coverage within two years, which we set out when we took over the business in July 2003. And in the few areas where we don’t yet have a presence we have some strong alliance partners to support our growing commercial and DIY customers.”
The Tauranga ‘Super Centre’, which is a new purpose-built facility, located directly on the gateway to Tauranga is a prominent, easily-accessed site, which has a full range of general and scaffold rental equipment from 1.5 up to 7 tonne. Regional Manager Richard Baird, and his staff have considerable industry experience and knowledge of the area. “ We’ve got a great site, new equipment and already we are receiving very positive feedback from new customers who are telling us they are thankful we have arrived.”
Nelson/Marlborough regional manager, Gary Christiansen has taken over as manager in Nelson. The Handi Hire business, established 20 years ago, had established strong links with the local industry and DIY customers and he expects under the Hirepool brand to attract even more business.
According to Mr Powell Hirepool’s focus on local people supporting local business is clearly evident in both Tauranga and Nelson.
